Modular Rack System for Pallet Goods Storage and Sheet Metal Packages
A modular rack system for pallet goods storage and sheet metal packages TEXO is used for storing of pallets from a size 1,200x800 mm up to a size 3,900x1,200 mm and it consists of four basic modules that can be easily combined and thus form a desired configuration of rack lines. Modular pallet rack TEXO was structurally modified for storage of ten packages of metal sheets of a format 2,000×1000 mm to 4,000×2,000 mm, with a load capacity of one cell 3,000 kg. The price corresponds to its robustness, quality and an exceptional operation life of several decades. The colour design is up to customers´ requirements in compliance with the RAL colour chart.
Contemporary market offers a wide range of rack systems for storing of the goods on pallets by many European producers. What they have usually in common is the construction of their column and horizontal beams from thin sheet metal, profile-bent in a very complicated way. The horizontal beams are usually attached to columns with a complicated lock system which ensures potential demountability of the rack. This construction brings several fundamental advantages – high static load capacity, low weight and relatively favourable price for each storage unit.
Construction from thin sheet metal has however several grave disadvantages. First and foremost it is low endurance of the rack system in case of lateral stress, e.g when the frame is hit by a fork lift, easy damage of the rack columns when accidently hit by fork lifts, relatively easy damage of the horizontal beams in case of random overloading of the beam, easy damage of the horizontal beams when stowing the goods into a storage unit, when the operating staff of the fork lift fails in estimating a correct height of the pallet with the goods and the pallet hits the horizontal beam. We may then very often see warning posts on the storage units “Out of order, don´t use”. Horizontal beams must be then changed, in case of damage of the columns it is necessary to make a complicated repair of the whole rack system.
Our company also used at first rack systems made of bent sheet metal components. Frequent damages and repairs of the rack system inspired us to a development of our own rack system which can be practically used for many years. The fundamental construction requirement was first and foremost high load capacity and even more high endurance of the racks during everyday service. According to our long term experience there is no way how to prevent colision of fork lifts with the racks, mainly in the companies with limited storage area space. All this resulted in a development of our own modular pallet rack system TEXO.
